John R. Burns was born in Yorkshire and has lived in London, Northumberland, Granada in Spain and now resides in Edinburgh. He was a headteacher for over fifteen years and has lectured in creative writing for adult classes.

He has given several talks to Edinburgh High Schools on the Holocaust and his travels in Poland in the early 90s. He has been a semi professional photographer and has organised several exhibitions of his pictures.

He has now eight novels published in paperback on Amazon and on Kindle, the latest being THE LAST PENNINE. He is working at the moment on the final draft of SCARIGG, a 21st century Victorian novel set in the Yorkshire Dales.
